Patrol in the North Sea off Southern Norway. At 23.48 hours on 26 March, U-21 ran aground at the Norwegian coast off Oldknuppen Island following a navigational error. The next day the boat was interned and towed to Mandal, later to Marvik. After U-21 was recaptured by Germany in April 1940, she was towed to Kristiansand for repairs.

27 Mar 1940. In Norwegian waters, a trawler pulled U-21 free from where it had grounded the day before. The U-boat then entered a Norwegian harbor and was interned.
