Attacks on U-877 during this patrol
27 Nov 1944
While outbound with surface escorts the boat was attacked by 2 depth charges from British Beufighters (Sqdn 489). During the crash dive the boat lost its radar antenna - not a good thing at the start of a patrol. Nonetheless she went on as ordered. (Sources: Blair, vol 2, page 650)
