General Events during this patrol
1941
8 Oct 1941. U-83 fired three torpedoes at a convoy escort, but all three missed.
21 Oct 1941. The boat fired a spread of torpedoes at a British task force (old carriers HMS Eagle and HMS Argus) at the Straits of Gibraltar. No torpedoes hit but the boat was incorrectly believed to have sunk a destroyer.
