Attacks on U-334 during this patrol

5 Jul 1942
In the evening, the boat was attacked in error by a German Ju88 aircraft (III./KG 30) northeast of the North Cape. Two bombs fell close, damaged the steering gear and left the boat unable to dive. U-334 had to be escorted to Neidenfjord by U-456, arrving safely the next day.
