Previously recorded fate
(Last revised by Axel Niestlé during November 1991. More on revised fates.
The attack by a British Liberator aircraft (Sqdn. 547/K), in position 56.11N, 11.08E, often credited with the sinking of U-2521 actually sank the U-579.
Men lost from U-boats
Unlike many other U-boats, which during their service lost men due to accidents and various other causes, U-2521 did not suffer any casualties (we know of) until the time of her loss.
