Fate

This is one of 3 type XXI boats buried in the Elbe II bunker in Hamburg.

The boats trapped there are U-2505, U-3004 and U-3506. They are lying on the surface at low tide but are not accessible to the casual observer and stationed on private property. I believe the bunker has been filled with gravel now to prevent injuries as the area is considered dangerous.

The fate below is an incorrect but a very common one in many sources.

Previously recorded fate

Scuttled on 2 May, 1945 at Hamburg. Wreck broken up.

Men lost from U-boats

Unlike many other U-boats, which during their service lost men due to accidents and various other causes, U-3004 did not suffer any casualties (we know of) until the time of her loss.
