General notes on this boat
On 4 Sept, 1945 the last German unit surrendered! It was the weather station 'Haudegen' on Spitzbergen, which was set out from U-307 on 28 September, 1944.
Men lost from U-boats
Unlike many other U-boats, which during their service lost men due to accidents and various other causes, U-307 did not suffer any casualties (we know of) until the time of her loss.
