Scuttled at 0130hrs on 4 May, 1945 in position 54.19N, 09.43E in the Audorfer See, near Rendsburg.

The boat was later raised and taken as a British Prize and used for trials. Final fate unknown.

Men lost from U-boats

Unlike many other U-boats, which during their service lost men due to accidents and various other causes, U-793 did not suffer any casualties (we know of) until the time of her loss.
