Descripton: A well-researched book on the anti U-boat tactics and the accompanying diplomatic currents of World War I. Includes much original documentation, analyzing various official proclamations, conference protocols, and telegrams. Also provides an analysis of the movements of the U-boats and their successes, as well as the deployment of mine fields and other efforts made to counter the boats. A good overview of the changing circumstances that marked the course of U-boat warfare in World War I - e.g., restricted versus unrestricted U-boat warfare, and the ways in which various agreements and the Prize Rules hampered or facilitated submarine operations.
