Descripton: Covers the World War II convoys. Besides many photos and lots of informative text, an additional feature of this book is the wealth of information contained in the sidebars on most of the pages - factoids and statistics, reminiscences of veterans, excerpts from other books, verses of popular songs; and long sequences from a wartime manual called "How to Abandon Ship." A good overview of the convoy system, important battles and strategic turning points, intermixed with personal recollections of naval and merchant marine personnel.
