U 166. US destroyer PC- 566.

Some good pictures of U 166.
You can see the major damage a depth charge caused
to the foreward section. Conning Tower and gun look
in good shape, although they say U 166 is in two pieces.
The bow lays a short distance away.
They also show pictures of the Robert E. Lee and interviews
with some of her officers.Some of the other interviews were with
George Boggs, co- pilot of the plane thought to have sunk U 166
but as U-boat.net says was an attack on U 171.
Otto Methmann U 171, who says that attack caused no damage.
A gunner from US destroyer PC-566 which is credited with sinking U 166.
Ursula Traun, widow of the First Officer U 166.Rotraud Hennig, niece
of U 166 engineer. Also interviews with the local fisherman
and pilot boat captain. Melanie Wiggins is also interviewed.
