Notes on event

At 23.02 hours on 30 Oct 1942, U-604 attacked convoy SL-125 north of Madeira and observed later the Baron Vernon (Master Peter Liston) in sinking condition. The master, 42 crew members and six gunners were picked up by the British steam merchant Baron Elgin and landed at Madeira.
