General notes on this boat

13 Nov 1944. U-1052 collided with the Saude (352 tons) south of Bergen, Norway. The ship sank when the U-boat suddenly went astern and removed her bows from the huge hole in the Saude's hull, causing her to take on water.

Men lost from U-boats

Unlike many other U-boats, which during their service lost men due to accidents and various other causes, U-1052 did not suffer any casualties (we know of) until the time of her loss.
