Patrol description

Formed U-boat group 8 (Lindesnes) together with U-3, U-5 and U-6 for Operation Weseruebung, the German invasion of Denmark and Norway. On 11 April, the boat had to abort the patrol due to a bowplane defect.

In the North Sea, the British submarine HMS Unity (N 66) fired two torpedoes at the boat, but missed.

10 Apr 1940
At 18.21 hours, the boat was attacked with a bomb by a Wellington aircraft southwest of Norway. No damage.
