Attacks on U-199 during this patrol
3 Jul 1943
An American Mariner aircraft (Sqdn VP-74, pilot Harold C. Carey) attacked the boat but was shot down with all hands. Blair gives the date as June 30 which is incorrect. (Sources: Blair, vol 2, page 351)
