Attacks on this boat

14 Jan, 1945
While attacking the convoy BX 141 (Boston - Halifax) the boat destroyed 3 ships but was instead counterattacked by the escorts. The Canadian frigate HMCS Ettrick rammed the boat causing extensive damaged to the tower, periscopes, radio. Thereafter she was depth charged heavily but managed to slip away. Due to those damages the boat aborted its successful patrol and headed for Norway, reaching base on Feb 14. (Sources: Blair, vol 2, page 649)

1 recorded attacks on this boat.

Men lost from U-boats

Unlike many other U-boats, which during their service lost men due to accidents and various other causes, U-1232 did not suffer any casualties (we know of) until the time of her loss.
