Personal information

Rupprecht Fischer joined the Kriegsmarine in 1937 and belonged to Crew 37a. From July 1940 to Jan 1943 he served in minesweeping flotillas, first the 14th and then the 22nd. In Feb 1943 he joined the U-boat force and began his training. Rupprecht Fischer entered U-boat Commander Course with the 24th flotilla in July 1943.

From Sept to Oct 1943 Fischer served as Baubelehrung (U-boat familiarization) and he took command of his U-boat U-244 on 9 Oct 1943. He commanded the boat until 9 April 1945, taking the boat on 3 war patrols into the North Atlantic.

Rupprecht Fischer was lost aboard U-804 in the Kattegat when he was as passenger to Norway.
