Personal information
Herbert Laubert was Second and then First Watch Officer (IWO) on the famous U-125 from Jan 1941 to Nov 1942. He sailed on this boat during the Operation Drumbeat mission in Jan 1942.
He was transferred of U-125 six months before she was lost with all hands on 6 May 1943. By then Laubert had taken command of the small school U-boat U-58.
