HMS St. Elstan (Lt. R.M. Roberts, RNR) picks up the sole survivor from the American merchant Puerto Rican that was torpedoed and sunk on 9 March 1943 by the German submarine U-586 about 100 nautical miles north-east of Iceland in position 66º44'N, 10º41'W.
