HMS Maloja (A/Capt. (retired) V. Hammersley-Heenan, RN) intercepts the German merchant La Coruna (7359 GRT) south-east of Iceland in position 63º00'N, 10º20'W. However before the German ship can be captured she is scuttled by her own crew.
