Notes on loss

On 10 Sep, 1941, the unescorted Marken (Master A. Kokké) was torpedoed and sunk by U-111 north of Ceara. All crew members abandoned ship in lifeboats, they were questioned and food was given to them. The survivors were picked up on 21 September by a Spanish steam merchant.
