| History | Built as Italian Mincio for Pietro Ravano fu Marco, Genoa. On 10 Jun, 1940, the Mincio was seized by Britain at Liverpool. The vessel was renamed Empire Fusilier by the Ministry of War Transport (MoWT). | ||
| Notes on loss | At 20.20 hours on 9 Feb, 1942, the Empire Fusilier (Master William Reid), dispersed from convoy ON-60, was torpedoed and sunk by U-85 southeast of St.Johns, Newfoundland. Nine crew members were lost. The master, 31 crew members and six gunners were picked up by the Canadian corvette HMCS Barrie (K 138) (Chief Skipper G.N. Downey) and landed at Halifax. | ||
