| Notes on loss | At 23.44 hours on 29 Mar, 1943, the Nagara (Master Percy Cooper) in convoy SL-126 was torpedoed and damaged by U-404 about 425 miles northwest of Cape Finisterre. The ship was taken in tow by the tug HMS Dexterous (W 111) but foundered on 4 April in 47°52N/14°03W. The master, 84 crew members and twelve gunners were picked up by HMS Wear (K 230) (T/Lt G.D. Edwards, RNVR) and landed at Liverpool. | ||
