| Notes on loss | About 17.00 hours on 4 Jan, 1945, U-1232 attacked the convoy SH-194 four miles off Halifax and reported two ships sunk. The Polarland was sunk, while the Nipiwan Park lost her bow, but could be salvaged and was repaired at Pictou until 30 Nov, 1946. | ||
