Notes on loss On 6 Feb, 1945, U-1017 attacked the convoy TBC-60 southeast of Durlston Head and claimed hits on two 6000 tons freighters. However, the only ship hit was Everleigh (Master William Henry Gould). Six crew members were lost. The master, 42 crew members and seven gunners were picked up by the British landing craft HMS LCI-33 and landed at Portland.
