Notes on loss At 12.08 hours on 12 Jun, 1940, the unescorted Earlspark (Master Evan James Williams) was torpedoed and sunk by U-101 northwest of Cape Finisterre. The master and six crew members were lost. 31 crew members were picked up by the British sloop HMS Enchantress (L 56) (Cdr A.K. Scott-Moncrieff).
