| Notes on loss | At 00.55 hours on 1 Sep, 1940, the Efploia, a straggler from convoy OB-205, was hit aft by a G7e torpedo from U-101 northwest of Ireland. The Germans observed that the ship settled by the stern and the crew abandoned ship in two lifeboats. Later that day, the wreck was scuttled by a British warship with gunfire at 55°43N/13°05W. | ||
