History Launched as Hermione, completed as Harmodius 
Notes on loss At 03.41 hours on 8 Mar, 1941, the Harmodius (Master Robert James Parry) in convoy SL-67 was torpedoed and sunk by U-105 north-northeast of the Cape Verde Islands. 13 crew members and one gunner were lost. The master, 59 crew members and one gunner were picked up by the British destroyer leader HMS Faulknor (H 62) (Capt A.F. de Salis), transferred to the British destroyer HMS Forester (H 74) (LtCdr B. Tancock DSC) and landed at Gibraltar on 16 March.
