| Notes on loss | At 08.32 hours on 3 Apr, 1941, the British Viscount (Master William Coghill Baikie), dispersed from convoy SC-26 three hours before, was hit amidships by one torpedo from U-73 south-southwest of Iceland. The tanker caught fire, was abandoned and foundered later in 58°18N/27°50W. The master and 27 crew members were lost. 18 crew members and two gunners were picked up by HMS Havelock (H 88) (Cdr E.H. Thomas, DSC, RN) and landed at Liverpool. | ||
