History Completed in December 1937 as patrol ship PSK-301 for the NKVD. The ship participated in the Winter war against Finland. On 5 Jan, 1941, renamed Zhemchug (No 27) and on 23 June assigned to the Northern Fleet. 
Notes on loss At 21.12 hours on 10 Aug, 1941, the Zhemchug (No 27) was hit by one torpedo from U-451 while on patrol duties between Sviatoj Nos Cape and Kanin Nos Cape. The U-boat observed how the ship sank immediately west of Kanin Nos and later saw debris and two survivors, but all hands were lost. Only a life buoy of the ship was found on shore some days later.
