| History | Built as Danish Erna for J. Lauritzen, Copenhagen. On 26 Jun, 1940, the Erna was taken over by Britain and renamed Erna III by the Ministry of War Transport (MoWT). | ||
| Notes on loss | At 02.33 hours on 22 Sep, 1941, the Erna III (Master Knud Christian Sorensen), a straggler from convoy ON-16, was hit amidships by one torpedo from U-562 and sank within 14 minutes northeast of Cape Farewell. The master and 22 crew members were lost. | ||
