| Notes on loss | At 10.28 hours on 16 Feb, 1942, the Monagas was torpedoed and damaged by U-502 in the Gulf of Venezuela. At 10.42 hours, she was sunk by a coup de grāce 4 miles north of Punta Espada, Guajira. | ||
