On 21 April, the tanker was towed to New York by USS Owl (AM 2), escorted by USS Nicholson (DD 442) and USS Swanson (DD 443). Taken over by the US War Shipping Administration (WSA), repaired and returned to service as Panamanian Culpepper on 31 July. Converted to a barge in 1961. | ||
