Notes on loss

At 22.50 hours on 28 Nov, 1942, the unescorted Evanthia was hit amidships by one G7a torpedo from U-181 off Lourenço Marques. After the crew abandoned ship, the U-boat surfaced and sank the ship by gunfire. About 70 of the 107 rounds fired with the deck gun were hits.
