Notes on loss

At 21.50 hours on 20 Aug, 1940, the unescorted Leonidas M. Valmas was torpedoed and badly damaged by U-46. The ship was towed to Greenock, beached in Kames Bay and declared a total loss. The wreck was broken up where it was beached.
