| Notes on loss | At 07.12 hours on 23 Nov, 1940, the King Idwal (Master Richard Storm) in convoy OB-244 was torpedoed and sunk by U-123 about 158 miles west of Rockall. 12 crew members were lost. The master and 27 crew members were picked up by HMS Sandwich (L 12) (Cdr M.J. Yeatman) and landed at Liverpool on 27 November. | ||
