Attacks on U-979 during this patrol

23 Sep 1944
While attacking a small convoy one of its escorts, the British patrol craft HMS St. Kenan, rammed and depth charged the boat damaging the periscope. The boat returned to Bergen as a result. (Sources: Blair, vol 2, page 632)
