HMS Princess Victoria

Hi there

My grandad served on several RN ships during the war ( HMS Princess Victoria, HMS Queen Empress and HMS Berkeley Castle ) and my father and I have been working on gathering as much information as possible.

His first ship HMS Princess Victoria was mined and sunk 18th May 1940 in the mouth of the Humber ( about 20 miles from where I now live ).

I have searched every place I can think of for information and wondered if you guys had any new ideas I could try.

So far I have a list of casualties from Hull Daily Mail ; an obituary of Captain JBE Hall from The Times ; Locations of graves / memorials of some of the crew ( plus visited some of the graves with my Grandad ) ; wreck information from a local diving club and my Grandad's memories.

I am still trying to find a complete crew list also two of the casualties were awarded honours ( 1 OBE and 1 DSM ) is there anyway of tracking where, when and why these were awarded ?

Any ideas would be great
