Notes on classOne of the main reasons for the defeat of the IJN in the Pacific were the 3 ships of this class. They were there at the right time with the resources so desperately needed.

In 1943 Enterprise was refitted and her size grew to 32,000 tons. Her anti-aircraft armament was increased several times during the war.
