USS Baya (Lt.Cdr. Benjamin C. Jarvis) torpedoes and sinks the Japanese Submarine auxiliary netlayer Kainan Maru (525 GRT) off Cam Ranh Bay, French Indo-China in position 12º00'N, 109º17'E.

Baya is damaged by depth charges in position 11º55'N, 109º18'E However after repairs remains on patrol. (see map)

27 Mar 1945
USS Baya (Lt.Cdr. B.C. Jarvis) ends her 3rd war patrol at Subic Bay, Philippines.

26 Apr 1945
USS Baya (Lt.Cdr. B.C. Jarvis) departs Subic Bay for her 4th war patrol. Once again she is ordered to patrol in the South China Sea along the French Indo-China coastline. Later she shifts her patrol area to the Java Sea.

13 May 1945
USS Baya (Lt.Cdr. B.C. Jarvis) torpedoes and sinks the Japanese tanker Yosei Maru (2594 GRT) off the north coast of Java in position 06º31'S, 111º19'E. (see map)
