Sunk on October 4, 1943 north of the Azores, in position 45.13N, 28.58W, by Avenger and Wildcat aircraft from the American escort carrier USS Card.
This attack sank the U-422 instead.
Men lost from U-boats
Unlike many other U-boats, which during their service lost men due to accidents and various other causes, U-460 did not suffer any casualties (we know of) until the time of her loss.
