History	Decommissioned 16 June 1946. Laid up in the Pacific Reserve Fleet. Served as a Naval Reserve Training Vessel at Swan Island Naval Reserve Center, Portland, Oregon until 30 June 1967. Stricken 30 June 1967. Sold in 1979 to be broken up for scrap.

USS Loggerhead (Cdr. R.N. Metcalf) departs Pearl Harbor for her 1st war patrol. She is ordered to patrol in the South China Sea.

19 Jul 1945
USS Loggerhead (Cdr. R.N. Metcalf) ends her 1st war patrol at Fremantle, Australia.

13 Aug 1945
USS Loggerhead (Cdr. R.N. Metcalf) departs Fremantle for her 2nd war patrol. She is ordered to patrol in the Gulf of Siam.

22 Aug 1945
USS Loggerhead (Cdr. R.N. Metcalf) ends her 2nd war patrol at Subic Bay, Philippines.
