The boat escaped with only light damage boat after being rammed by a destroyer. (Sources: Blair, vol 2, page 34.)

14 Oct 1942
After an attack on convoy SC 104, U-607 was depth charged by the escort destroyer HMS Viscount, and was so badly damaged that she was forced to return to base.
