03.10 hrs, Norwegian Sea: a B-24 Liberator (RAF Sqdn 86/B, pilot S/Ldr Terry M. Bulloch, DSO, DFC & Bar) approached under cover of fog and darkness, but was damaged by flak before being able to launch depth charges. The aircraft made it back to base on two engines after the aircrew jettisoned all surplus weight, including guns and ammunition. (Sources: Franks/Zimmerman)
