German U-boat U-366 was sunk in the Arctic Ocean north-west of Hammerfest, in position 72°10'N, 14°44'E, by rockets from a Swordfish aircraft (Sqdn. 816) of the British escort carrier HMS Chaser (Capt. H.V.P. McClintock, DSO, RN).
