HMS Dunedin (Capt. E.C. Thornton, DSC, RN) proceeded from Greenock from Govan for a short refit. (1)

8 Oct 1940
HMS Dunedin (Capt. E.C. Thornton, DSC, RN) proceeded from Govan to Holy Loch.

She later conducted trials in the Clyde area arriving at Greenock very early on the 9th. (2)

HMS Dunedin (Capt. E.C. Thornton, DSC, RN) proceeded from Greenock to Holy Loch. (2)

11 Oct 1940
HMS Dunedin (Capt. E.C. Thornton, DSC, RN) proceeded from Holy Loch to Greenock.

She departed for Portsmouth later the same day after Capt. R.S. Lovatt, RN, had taken over command. (2)

HMS Suffolk (Capt. E.C. Thornton, DSC, RN) is undocked from No.3 Dock at the Fairfields Shipyard. She is moved to the Fairfields Basin. During the tow one propeller is damaged for which she later was docked again (5 February). (5)
