Personal information
Son of Tolliver C. and Lucy Cargile, of Covin, AL. He was officer of the deck when USS LST-348 was torpedoed. His body was recovered by USS LCI(L)-219 after the sinking and later handed over to US Army Grave Registration Service at Anzio-Nettuno.Sources
