Personal information

Thomas Leo Canning was a son of the late Colby and Theresa (Kendrick) Canning. He spent his early years in Parrsboro. He served in the Merchant Marines during the Second World War and was awarded the Atlantic Star and War Medal. He joined the RCMP marine division in 1944 and was stationed in Halifax for 25 years. Upon retirement in 1969, he moved to Maccan. He is survived by his wife, the former Renee Dauvin; daughter, Janis (Mrs. Jim Pollitt), Lake Fletcher; son, Thomas, Fredericton; four grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters, Inez, Flora, Muriel; brothers, Burpee, John, Joseph, Randolph, James.
