Son of Harry and Octavia Otterson (nee Turton), of Wellington City, New Zealand. Formerly Lieutenant Commander in RNR, served in the First World War. He survived the sinking of Jalabala, but died in one of the lifeboats about two hours before making landfall and was buried in the Madras War Cemetery.
