Son of John Holmes and Isabel Jane Elliott, of Rustington, Littlehampton, Sussex; husband of Isabel Mary Elliott, of Kensington, London. Agent of the John Holt & Co Ltd. He was taken prisoner by U-66 after the sinking of John Holt and was lost when the U-boat was sunk in May 1944.
